Vast Woofer Design
These 3.5-inch car speakers come with polypropylene cones and polyether foam surrounds to give you the thundering and accurate bass output that you are looking for while still having the endurance and toughness to withstand the wear and tear from extended hours of use at high volume levels.
Silk Dome Tweeter
It has a 0.75-inch silk dome tweeter that can produce a smooth, bright, and precise high-frequency performance with a minimal breakup and reduced ringing at near-peak volume levels. The JL Audio C2-350x also has a built-in crossover network to direct signal flow for a more defined audio quality.

- • Why does the sound distort or pop when I turn up the bass on my radio?
A 3.5-inch speaker cannot handle deep bass. Use a high-pass filter (HPF) on your radio or amplifier set between 120-150 Hz to cut out low bass and prevent distortion.
- • Why does the volume seem lower compared to my original factory speakers?
These speakers have a lower sensitivity (83 dB) than stock drivers. They require more power to reach the same volume, meaning they will sound quieter unless you add an aftermarket amplifier.
- • Will the center tweeter clear my vehicle's original factory dashboard speaker grilles?
The tweeter protrudes 0.55 inches. While it fits most vehicles, exceptionally tight dashboard grilles may press against it, requiring you to use a foam gasket or spacer to drop the speaker frame lower.
- • Why did the mounting tabs not line up cleanly with my factory screw holes?
The tabs use a universal layout, but many modern car dashboards have irregular factory screw placements. Use wide fender washers over your factory screws to firmly clamp the tabs down.
- • Why do the speakers sound flat, hollow, or harsh right out of the box?
The cone and foam surround are very stiff when brand new. They require roughly 20 to 30 hours of normal playing time to break in, loosen up, and deliver a smooth sound.
- • Where are the inline or external crossover modules that go with these?
There are no external boxes. The high-pass crossover filter is built directly onto the speaker's basket chassis underneath, allowing you to connect your factory wires straight to the terminals.
- • Why am I missing the mesh grilles to finish my custom fabrication project?
JL Audio does not include grilles with the C2-350x because 3.5-inch speakers are designed to go behind factory factory dash or pillar panels. For exposed custom setups, buy generic grilles separately.
- • Why do these drop-in replacements sound weird when connected to my premium factory system?
Premium factory systems (like Bose or Alpine) often use specialized 2-ohm or 8-ohm channels. Connecting these 4-ohm speakers can cause an uneven frequency balance or reduced volume.
- • Can I safely power these using a heavy 75-watt or 100-watt RMS multi-channel amplifier?
These have a strict continuous limit of 25 watts RMS. You can use a larger amp, but you must keep your amplifier gains low and conservative to avoid melting the small voice coils.

Installed these in dash of my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 last night. They're great. In fact, they're almost too great because now I can't hear any of the other speakers in my truck. Great highs with no distortion.
